The Bakuman official website is streaming a teaser for its upcoming anime adaptation of the Obata Takeshi-drawn manga series.

Drawn by Takeshi Obata, artist on Death Note and Hikaru no Go, the manga details the plight of a young man in his quest to become a manga-ka – along with his plucky friend who wants to be his writer. The manga serves as an interesting insight into the business and struggle of creating manga.

Bakuman’s inside manga to run in Shonen Jump

Rakko 11-gou (Otter 11), a gag manga in the fictional world of Bakuman, will appear as a 15-page story in the upcoming issue of Shonen Jump on Aug. 9.

The gag-comedy appears within the story of Bakuman, two college students trying to become manga creators.

The Bakuman manga series has been licensed for North America and an anime series has been greenlit for fall.





Bakuman anime to debut in 2010

Bakuman, a manga about creating manga, will get the anime treatment in 2010, according to NHK’s anime world website.

Drawn by Takeshi Oobata, artist on Death Note and Hikaru no Go, the manga details the plight of a young man in his quest to become a manga-ka – along with his plucky friend who wants to be his writer. The manga serves as an interesting insight into the business and struggle of creating manga.

An exact date for the anime’s debut wasn’t given, but is said to debut before the end of the year.

Bakuman anime official

Rumors on 2 channel have been confirmed, as an announcement in the latest issue of Shonen Weekly Jump announced an anime adaptation to the manga series Bakuman.

Drawn by Hikaru no Go artist Takeshi Obata, the series is about two boys who aspire to become a manga artist and writer.

The series is slated to release next fall.
