In anticipation of the upcoming second Evangelion film, Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance, the official Evangelion web site has released a new 85 second trailer for the film.
Evangelion 2.0, or known as Eva 2.0 for short, is the second part of a four-part remake of the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion, which brought a mixture of praise and criticism for its creator, Hideaki Anno. The ending of this anime series, which saw the episodes go from something of a monster of the week show to a highly esoteric, philosophical debate mirroring the creator’s own existential crisis, was so hated by some fans that he received death threats.
However, Evangelion still continues to be immensely popular in Japan, and anyone who has taken a recent trip there can attest to still seeing depictions of Rei often.
Evangelion 2.0 comes out June 27. To see the newest trailer, click: Here! (Warning: You need WMV to watch this. The link will be updated when a streaming version becomes available.)
