Dreamcast RIP? Not just yet…

5 05 2009

jg-dreamcastThe Dreamcast may seem old and antiquated when compared to the current generation of video game consoles, but in Japan and even in America the old system continues to have a small and devoted following. In Japan, in fact, every once in a while a new Dreamcast game is still released — virtually unheard of in the U.S.

Remarkably enough, video game seller thinkgeek.com has discovered an unsold palette of Dreamcasts brand new in the box, and are letting them go for $99.99. The units are the U.S. versions, so buyers will need to purchase a import boot disc to play imports (which can be found by the truckload in Akihabara or on the internet).
