To Love Ru manga spinoff announced

Kentaro Yubiki’s To Love Ru manga series, will be getting a spin-off, according to early scans on 2-Channel.

The series is expected to start on Oct. 4 in Square Jump magazine. Yubiki will handle the art and Hasemi Saki will write the scripts.

The original To Love Ru series ran from April 2006 to August 2009 and launched many spinoff properties.





K-On! to promote Japanese Census

The characters from the manga and anime series K-On! have been licensed as imiage characters for the upcoming Japanese Census.

The 2010 census (Heisei 22) will begin on Oct. 1. The character will serve in specifically the Kyoto prefecture.

The Japanese Census runs every five years and asks many of the same questions as its American Counterpart.





Marvel anime to debut in 2011

Marvel Executive Vice President Jeph Loeb announced that four anime series based on Marvel properties will debut on G4 in 2011.

Iron Man, Wolverine, X-men and Blade will all be produced by Madhouse Studios and combine Japanese and American elements in the series.

Iron Man, the first of the series, will debut in Japan on Oct. 1 of this year.





Anime adaptation of archery manga streamed

Shueisha’s Young Jump website is streaming a four-minute anime short of Kaichuu!, and manga series about archery.

The manga, which began as a one-shot and launched a regular series in Weekly Shounen Jump, and continues on the Young Jump website, centers on a young boy who enters his school’s archery club and falls in love with it’s most talented member.

More details released on To Love Ru anime

This Saturday’s edition of Weekly Shounen Jump will announce the newest anime adaptation of the To Love Ru manga.

Called Motto To Love Ru (More To Love Ru), the series will bring back all of the voice actors from the first series, and many of the key production aspects as well. Atsushi Ootsuki will direct and Yuichi Ouka will return from the first series to work on character designs.

The series is scheduled to release this fall.





New Pokemon game trailer streaming

A trailer for the newest Pokemon game is streaming on Youtube and can be found here: (Pokemon trailer).

Called Pokemon Black and White, the game will feature fifth generation Pokemon, such as Tsutarji, Pokabu and Mijumaru.

The game is scheduled to release in Japan Sept. 18 of this year, and Spring 2011 in the U.S.





New To Love Ru anime series announced

The most recent issue of Shonen Jump has reported that a new anime series based on the manga series To Love Ru (Transliteration/pun on the word trouble) is in production.

The main cast will be back to reprise their roles from the 2008 anime series, though the format has not yet been announced.

Running in Shonen Jump from April 24, 2006 and August 31, 2009, To Love Ru revolved around a normal boy and the alien princess that crashlands in his house and decides he’s her fiance.
